Maple syrup is a plant-based alternative to honey. It is known from the Master Cleanse diet and naturally as pancake syrup. But this sweetener is so much more than that. You can use it for cooking and baking, and as a base for dressings, sauces, and ice cream. Maple sap comes from the maple tree, which produces this sugary sap every year. We collect it in the Canadian spring and then boil it down to syrup. What's the difference between amber rich taste (Grade A) and dark robust taste (Grade C)?
