Fancy an extra portion of protein? The soya-based protein crispies are produced in Germany (GMO-free) and, at 60 g per 100 g, are rich in protein and impress with their delicious flavour. But how is it that these little brown balls contain so much protein and are so light and tasty? The protein content comes from the well-known soya bean, which naturally has a high protein content. But how are soya beans turned into soya crispies? The extrusion process is used in the food industry to produce crispies. This is used to shape and structure protein-rich raw materials. This is how these small protein balls are made. First, a mixture of soya, maize and cocoa is produced, which also contains water. The "dough" is compressed by heating in screw presses and then pressed through a valve. The narrow valve leads to a drop in pressure and the mass inflates, is dried and thus takes on the shape of a balloon.
