Goma-sio, derived from the Japanese words Goma (sesame) and Shio (salt), is a seasoning used to sprinkle on dishes. Sesame seeds and salt are lightly roasted over a wood fire and then ground with a stone mill. Each grain of salt is then coated with sesame oil. This coating does not mask the flavor or nutritional values of the sesame but enhances the absorption of the salt by making it plant-based.
Goma-sio is perfect for sprinkling on muesli or raw vegetables. A tablespoon per meal enhances the flavor of all your dishes with its nutty taste.
