Herbaria Sweet paprika

Herbaria Sweet Paprika comes from controlled organic cultivation by a family business in the famous paprika region around Szeged, Hungary. The Szeged region boasts 2,100 hours of sunshine per year, which is why the city rightfully bears the nickname "City of Sunshine." The gradually sun-ripened fruits of the paprika are harvested in 4 to 6 hand-picking sessions. Traditionally, the pods are allowed to ripen in net bags for an additional 2-3 weeks in airy places. This long ripening process and subsequent maturation of the pods result in a full, fruity aroma and a vibrant red color. At the end of the process, the harvest is washed, cut, and depending on the need, either subjected to final warm air drying and storage or ground. The pods are traditionally ground in stone mills at a family-run paprika mill in the Szeged area. Paprika is essential in goulash and stews, but it also enhances soups, vegetables, as well as egg and cheese dishes.
