Herbaria Black sesame seeds, whole

Herbaria black sesame comes from controlled organic farming at the foot of the Andes in Bolivia. A small farmer cooperative consisting of about 490 farms cultivates the black sesame (Sesamum indicum). The cooperative ensures fair payment for the growers. The harvest is done by hand between January and April, after which the sesame is dried in the fields and further processed by hand. Black sesame has a nutty aroma and is slightly spicier than the more commonly known white sesame. It is primarily used in Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine, for example, in marinades, baked goods, as well as vegetable dishes and rice.
