HEKU be green Our be green products are made from various renewable raw materials such as wood, corn, and sugarcane. Wood is overall the most important and commonly used renewable raw material, primarily serving in this product category for the production of fresh fiberboard for paper plates and pulp for napkins. Corn serves as the basis for starch extraction as a renewable raw material. Starch is converted into lactic acid through chemical processes, from which compostable bioplastics like PLA or heat-resistant C-PLA are produced. Sugarcane is the world's most significant sugar plant. The juice is extracted from the sugarcane plant, which regrows multiple times a year, and the resulting byproduct (bagasse), which was often burned in the past, is used to manufacture our plates and bowls. The products made from sugarcane are lightweight yet very stable. These spoons are heat-resistant up to a maximum of 80 degrees Celsius.
