Our vegan alternative to hard cheese tastes great, for example,

  • with pasta, risotto, and stews
  • with basil on freshly baked pizza
  • as a topping on bowls and salads
  • as a savory spread for your snack bread

What’s in the pasta topping
Unlike many ready-made products, we avoid fats and flavor enhancers. Our pasta topping is made up of three-quarters fair organic cashews, which are gently roasted by hand without oil. With nearly 20 percent protein, these nuts are a high-quality plant-based protein source and provide magnesium, potassium, and zinc. The topping gets its flavor from a pinch of salt and regional yeast flakes from the Kaiserstuhl region.

The origin of our ingredients
A small-scale Fairtrade cooperative in Burkina Faso grows the cashews in mixed cultivation with our mangoes. The families receive fixed purchase prices for their crops. To create more jobs there, the cashews are processed directly in a nearby factory. Since yeast flakes are not available as a Fairtrade product, we source them as regionally as possible – of course in certified organic quality. The flakes come from Agrano in the Kaiserstuhl area, close to Freiburg. In the production and fermentation process, Agrano uses only natural ingredients, unlike conventional yeast, and avoids chemical and synthetic additives.
