Coconut - biodegradable and compostable. To obtain coconut fiber, the husk of the coconut must be exposed to a decay process in a large swamp basin for an extended period. All organic, decay-prone materials undergo this rotting process. Only the absolutely decay-resistant coconut fiber remains, which can then be processed into a coconut fiber cleaning sponge after washing and drying.
