Product details

Historically, the term "spaghetto" first appeared in the Italian language's first dictionary, compiled by Nicolò Tommaseo and Bernardo Bellini in 1819. Here, the word spaghetto is defined as "singular, masculine, diminutive of spago," with the following note: "Minestra di Spaghetti: This refers to pasta the size of a small thread and the length of sopracapellini (a synonym for spaghetti)." Interestingly, in 1957, the BBC aired the first documentary on spaghetti production, and the following day, the phones in the TV studios rang non-stop as viewers wanted to know the names of spaghetti manufacturers and retailers to make purchases. Spaghetti is so versatile that it can be enjoyed with any sauce—from fish to meat, from vegetables to cheese. However, they also taste excellent on their own, simply drizzled with a little extra virgin olive oil and a touch of Parmesan.
