Organic durum wheat flour from Swiss cultivation. Made from Swiss organic spelt durum wheat grains, this fine, golden-hued flour is produced using a special Italian milling technique. Its beautiful color is due to the increased content of carotenoids. The flavor of the durum wheat flour is subtly sweet. Durum wheat is more closely related to its flavorful ancestor emmer than to our common wheat and became the most important wheat variety in the Mediterranean region during the second millennium BC. Durum wheat thrives in warm and dry conditions, which is why the main cultivation areas are in Southern Europe. Biofarm and the producers bring the taste and aroma of the South to Swiss soil and plates! Durum wheat flour is suitable for preparing pasta, pizza, and typical Italian breads, such as focaccia and ciabatta.
