The Birdseye chili plant is a perennial with small, pointed fruits, often two or three at a node. The chilis are hand-picked when ripe. After sorting, the chilis are carefully sun-dried before the last stems are removed on the sorting table. The farmers of 1001 Organic are primarily located on the mainland of Tanzania, in the Kigoma region.
