I would not recommend it for small children. There are also adults who find the pain very unpleasant. Although it has a shorter time setting for children - the ceramic surface still gets quite uncomfortably hot. But highly recommended for teenagers and adults (and less pain-sensitive children of primary school age). We use it all the time in summer and autumn and hardly ever need Fenistil and co.
