Product details
Key Surgical Disposable Button Cannula 0.8 x 70 mm made of sterile plastic (50 pcs)
Application
To flush tissue pockets with a button cannula, the opening in the skin must be sufficiently large to allow the flushing solution to drain. Simply attach the button cannula to a syringe that already contains the flushing solution, just like a regular disposable cannula. Then, carefully insert the cannula into the pocket and slowly empty the flushing solution. Avoid applying too much pressure with the fluid stream, as this can be uncomfortable and even painful for your patient.
For enemas, draw the fluid into the syringe before attaching the button cannula. When dealing with constipation, enemas are usually made with paraffin. This is oily and flows less easily through hollow needles than aqueous solutions. Therefore, ensure that the diameter of the button cannula is sufficiently large.
Here, even more than with flushing, it is important to empty slowly and gently. If in doubt, test how much fluid can pass through the cannula on your hand beforehand.
