The Italian city of Agrakas, now Agrigent, in southern Sicily has inspired our composition. The fragrance Akragas captures the fascination of this melting pot of cultures and wonders, beginning with the salt from the most famous salt mine, surrounded by Mediterranean maquis bushes in a charming landscape. Akragas opens with an almost piercing bouquet that immediately immerses you in the maquis, the typical Mediterranean shrubland: you can sense Sicilian myrtle and seaweed, closely embraced by the island's characteristic citrus fruits, foremost among them grapefruit and the unmistakable strength of neroli. These top notes rest on a generous heart, as powerful as the Sicilian land, where the salt from the mine at Agrigent is the dominant note, accented by Atlas cedar and strongly flavored with red thyme and Bulgarian geranium. The entire composition is built on a mighty aromatic base, where the sea breeze of Sicily resonates, driven by benzoin and musk, with counterpoints of patchouli from Singapore and vanilla pods from Madagascar. A wonderfully captivating, salty perfume.
