The AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution exfoliates multiple layers of skin for a brighter, more even appearance. Utilizing alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), beta hydroxy acids (BHA), and a studied derivative of the Tasmanian pepperberry that reduces irritation often associated with acid use, this at-home peel helps smooth skin texture, clear clogged pores, and improve uneven pigmentation. The formula also includes a hyaluronic acid in the form of a crosspolymer for a pleasant skin feel, pro-vitamin B5 for hydration, and black carrot for additional protection.
Note: This formula contains an extremely high concentration of free acids.
The pH of this formula is approximately 3.6. Glycolic acid, the key AHA in the formula, has a pKa of 3.6. The pKa value is the most important aspect of formulating acids. A pKa close to the pH indicates that the acid is available. When the pKa is near the pH, there is an ideal balance between salt and acid content, maximizing the acid's effectiveness while minimizing skin sensitivities.
