Hard positioning rollers are often used in Bobath therapy and for patients with spastic disorders, which are characterized by uncontrolled, increased muscle tension. Special positioning techniques with the rollers aim to regulate muscle tone, inhibiting or preventing spasticity.

Sport-Thieme positioning roll/Bobath roll/spasticity roll is suitable for perceptual disorders. These rolls are harder than other positioning rolls, making them particularly effective for patients with perceptual disorders. Positioning with these harder rollers enhances the patients' perception of their own body through increased sensory information.
