Vita Folic Acid is a dietary supplement containing folic acid. Folic acid plays a role in the process of cell division. Since it is involved as a cofactor in DNA formation, it is essential during every cell division. This function is particularly important for rapidly regenerating tissues. Additional intake of folate is especially crucial for women who wish to become pregnant, as it increases the woman's folate levels. Low folate levels during pregnancy are a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the fetus.
