The Serge Lutens Baptême du Feu Eau de Parfum Spray is a winter fragrance featuring sweet top notes of mandarin and autumnal osmanthus blossom. Hints of gingerbread, spicy castoreum, and woody notes shape its long-lasting scent trail. However, Baptême du Feu also has a dark timbre that recalls the tumultuous youth of its creator, Serge Lutens. Gunpowder aromas serve as a reminder that even a Christmas market, with its sweetness and shooting booths, was a trial by fire for Serge, the orphan. Chanel perfumer Christopher Sheldrake created this expressive fragrance in 2016.
