The coneflower, which originates from North America, is now cultivated in all temperate climate zones. The indigenous peoples of North America were already using it before the arrival of the first settlers, who quickly included it in their pharmacopoeia to treat various ailments. Kalmegh or Andrographis, also known as "Indian Echinacea", is a bitter plant that has been cultivated in India for thousands of years and used to support the body's natural defences.
