Rosendo Mateu Olfactive Expressions No. 5

Rosendo Mateu has created a fabulous flower with his number 5, one that cannot be found in nature but exists as a dream in a perfume. It is an exotic, spicy oriental scent. Top notes: spices; heart notes: clove, lily of the valley; base notes: vanilla, amber, musk. Rosendo Mateu embodies the essence of a self-made man, which is reflected in his work as well as in the perfectionism that characterizes each of his creations. For 40 years, Mateu has been one of the specialists at Puig, one of the most renowned perfume companies in the world. During this time, he has developed numerous fragrances, all bearing his personal touch. After working for some of the largest international brands, Mateu dedicated part of his time to more ambitious projects, such as developing bespoke perfumes that led him to study diverse themes like Greek civilization, the Roman Empire, or the paintings of Francis Bacon. In the latter case, he took on the challenge of creating a fragrance for an exhibition dedicated to the English painter. He spent months studying the scent of colors, canvases, and even the era in which Bacon lived and worked. The result reflects the intensity of commitment that this experienced maestro brings to each of his projects. As one of the few perfumers in Europe, he was awarded the honorary title of "Maître Parfumeur" in 2010.
