Good day, what a pity. I've had the toothbrush for a while and no problems or strange noises. It works perfectly and doesn't change the speed. Since you still have a guarantee, I would bring it back and have it replaced. Or pay attention to whether you can reach the button. But that doesn't explain the blowing. However, this could also be due to the brush attachment.

I have the old black Smart with charging travel case, this newer white one (without Tongue Care) fits in the old case and can also be charged with it. I haven't found an effective replacement/successor with charging case, tongue care etc., so my wife got the HX9903.

Unfortunately, the product HX8071/17 is no longer available from us. However, it is listed as a suitable accessory according to the manufacturer. Philips Sonicare (tongue brush, 1 x)

I can now answer the question myself, as my Sonicare broke by chance a few days later and I then of course bought a Smart model. In my opinion, it's not worth it if you still have a working Sonicare without Smart. The app collects statistics, evaluations and gives recommendations - quite nice but not much more. You only get the "full" benefit if you have the app open while brushing your teeth, but who does that except for the very first time. For the synch to work in the background, you have to give the Philips app permanent access to the location - I don't like that, even if they promise not to track it. Conclusion: Ok but still a lot of room for improvement...
