Heat emitters, whether infrared or dark heaters, should be installed with a minimum distance of 60 cm from bedding and surrounding walls. In small barns, overheating can quickly occur due to heat emitters. A well-ventilated barn is healthier for chickens than one that is overly heated. Humid, warm air often leads to respiratory problems.
