Deer tongue elixir is one of the "universal potions" according to Hildegard of Bingen, which according to her teachings should be used in many everyday situations. In addition to the deer tongue fern herb, the potion consists of wine, honey, cinnamon and long pepper. The literature also recommends taking it as a cure for up to 6 weeks.
