The Heine instrument head with fiber optic ring illumination is compatible with single-use tubes for proctoscopy, anoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy. The original proctological instrument is designed for connection to a light guide cable or the Heine BETA 3.5 V handle with illumination adapter. The window features a connection for a blower with a hygiene filter to improve visibility through insufflation.

The Heine proctoscope is used for medical-diagnostic examination and treatment of the anal canal and parts of the rectum (lower intestine).
