Back from her journey to India, where she discovered a whole new world of scents, Madame Grès decided in 1959 to launch a perfume: Cabochard, composed by perfumer Bernard Chant. Inspired by Madame Grès's strong personality, Cabochard has become the quintessential chypre fragrance for women. It is a scent that is as classic as it is innovative, as soft as it is bold, as wild as it is controlled. This is Cabochard.
Top Note
The perfume opens with a contrast between two raw materials: the green, dry, androgynous galbanum and the flattering, intoxicating, and seductive ylang-ylang.
Heart Note
The ylang-ylang petals now give way to other precious blooms: Bulgarian rose and jasmine from Grasse, which lend Cabochard a classic facet.
Base Note
In the end, the fragrance becomes darker and gains depth through the intense influence of moss, vetiver, musk, and patchouli, providing a touch of mystery and exotic sensuality.
