The perfume: The Night is Dominique's first composition for Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, bearing the signature of fragrances from the Middle East. In this part of the world, "night" represents far more than a moment of coolness amidst the desert: it is the moment of love, the instant when the stars of the Milky Way blanket the sky. The Night is a world filled with natural scents unto itself. Unlike commercially available oud fragrances, which at best contain traces of this precious raw material (if at all), The Night is based on an unprecedented proportion of Indian agarwood, generously combined by Dominique with Turkish rose and amber. The Night is undoubtedly the most precious perfume in the world. The perfumer: Dominique Ropion learned his craft at the legendary Roure Bertrand Dupont laboratory before starting his work with Jean-Louis Sieuzac, one of the world's greatest perfumery technicians. Today, he is a star perfumer at IFF. What distinguishes Ropion's work is the blend of precision and freedom, as well as the constant search for new, harmonious accords, in which he combines ingredients that are completely opposite to each other. An adventurer who relies on his instinct, Dominique Ropion is also very strict in the final phase of formulating each of his fragrances.
