Cavities (caries) occur due to insufficient dental care and frequent consumption of sugary drinks and foods.

When the milk teeth are replaced by permanent teeth, this is referred to as the mixed dentition phase. This occurs between the ages of 5 and 14. The risk of caries is highest in children aged 6 to 12, as the complete hardening of the erupting teeth is not yet finished, self-cleaning is reduced, and decayed milk teeth serve as a reservoir for caries bacteria. Therefore, it is recommended to thoroughly brush the teeth twice a day with a soft children's toothbrush and EMOFORM actifluor Youngsters. Parents should also assist their children with proper tooth brushing at least before bedtime and remind them to do so.
