Contragel grün

Contragel Green 60g for use with diaphragms, contraceptives, or cervical caps. Contragel Green is a contraceptive gel designed for use with the contraceptive methods diaphragm, contraceptive, and cervical cap. The effectiveness of these contraceptive methods is enhanced by the use of Contragel Green.

Mechanism of action: Contragel Green forms a mechanical barrier in front of the cervix (cervical area) through the cellulose (gelling agent). The lactic acid contained in it lowers the vaginal pH level. The increased acidity and viscosity of the gel have a motility-inhibiting effect on spermatozoa. This lactic acid-based formulation was evaluated in a comparative study of various diaphragm gels and creams in 1989 as being as safe as products containing Nonoxynol-9, but with significantly reduced side effects.

Note: Contragel Green does not provide protection against sexually transmitted diseases. When used without a diaphragm or cervical cap, Contragel Green does not offer contraceptive protection. Contragel Green is water-soluble and compatible with natural rubber or polyurethane condoms.

Composition: Lactic acid (Acidum lacticum), sodium lactate (Natrii lactas), methylcellulose (Methylcellulosum), sorbic acid (E200) (Acidum sorbicum (E200)). Administration form: vaginal. Indications: contraceptive gel for use with the contraceptive methods diaphragm or cervical cap; increases the effectiveness of these contraceptive methods. Dosage: approximately one teaspoon into the diaphragm or cervical cap.
