Composition:
The Eau de Parfum draws its inspiration from the perfume with which it shares its floral-aldehydic signature.
This floral bouquet of May rose and jasmine is enlivened in the top notes by citrus notes. The aldehydes give it a unique presence, while the soft vanilla provides an infinitely sensual trail.
Inspiration:
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel approached Ernest Beaux to create a rare and powerful fragrance for women that encapsulated the scent of femininity. Beaux proposed a visionary composition that utilized aldehydes in a new way. Mademoiselle was captivated by the version number 5 of the fragrance and decided to keep this number as its name. For this new scent, she chose a radical bottle with a white label and a faceted cabochon. In 1986, Jacques Polge, who had been CHANEL's nose since 1978, reinterpreted the fragrance score of his predecessor to create a more comprehensive version of N°5: the Eau de Parfum.
