Caricol-Gastro contains the valuable ingredients of a patented organic oat preparation and Caricol, a patented extract from tree-ripened organic papayas. Oats are known in our part of the world as a traditional remedy for gastrointestinal inflammation and irritation. Avenanthramides - active polyphenols - have proven to be particularly effective for the anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties of oats. In vitro studies have shown that avenanthramides inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators such as IL-6 and IL-8 and thus soothe the irritated gastric mucosa quickly and sustainably. Among tropical fruits, papaya is a rather alkaline fruit. Its low acid content makes it particularly well tolerated. Papaya contains all the essential amino acids, large amounts of calcium, magnesium and potassium as well as essential fatty acids and bioflavonoids. Several in-vitro and in-vivo studies have shown that the extract made from papaya has an anti-inflammatory, cell-protecting and cell-renewing effect.
