To celebrate the arrival of spring, the annual powerful rebirth of nature, Ben Gorham, Creative Director of Byredo, created a floral fragrance that captures the strength and beauty of blossoms at the moment they reach their dramatic peak. The result, wonderfully titled "Inflorescence," is an idyllic stroll through wild garden arbors filled with blooming, sprawling roses, interspersed with intoxicating, honey-sweet notes of freesia at its prime. Two of the very first spring flowers take center stage: the creamy-soft allure of the magnolia blossom, with its petals fully opened, and the lily of the valley, just before its fall—symbolically representing the "return of happiness" and the joys associated with the onset of spring. Finally, and quite unusually, Ben Gorham has used jasmine as a base, lush and overgrown, a true tumult of fresh grace that supports the structure and delivers an intoxicating finish. Top notes: pink freesia, rose petals. Heart notes: lily of the valley, magnolia. Base note: fresh jasmine.
