Galactose exists as a monosaccharide in both the animal and plant kingdoms and belongs to the hexose family. It is a typical component of the sugar coating that surrounds every cell and plays a role in cell-to-cell communication. The glycoproteins and glycolipids contained in galactose are essential for communication between cells. Galactose is produced using gentle methods without chemical additives. In this process, lactose (milk sugar) from dairy products, such as whey, is broken down into its components, glucose and galactose. It can also be sourced from plant sources, such as legumes and larch. Biosana's D(+) Galactose works independently of insulin, making it suitable for diabetics.
