Amouage Meander

Salalah, the capital of Dhofar, boasts one of the most precious jewels of the fragrance world. The finest quality of frankincense is harvested from the Boswellia trees that grow on fertile soils in the heart of the desert. I chose to depict a contradiction between lush green herbal notes and warm, dry desert dust: mist and smoke; real and unreal. Two different qualities of frankincense provide the precious smoky signature that the fragrance carries throughout its development. This character is enhanced by rich, earthy notes of carrot heart and orris root, deeply smoky cypriol, and vetiver from the island of Java. Sensually creamy sandalwood envelops these robust notes with a gentle sophistication, and a hint of daffodil recalls the unexpectedly lush nature of the land.
