Top notes form the top layer of the fragrance. These are the aromas that we perceive first after spraying on the perfume. Their main purpose is to release the initial scent and leave a first impression. They then gently transition to the next part of the fragrance. Top notes generally consist of lighter and smaller fragrance molecules - they evaporate quickly and last up to several minutes.
Also called middle notes. They are responsible for retaining some of the scents of the top notes and introducing new scents. The middle notes also serve as a substitute for the base notes. they are combined with other flavours. Here, mainly fragrances with medium volatility are used, including: spicy, floral and green notes. The heart notes appear when the top notes begin to fade and remain prominent throughout the life of the fragrance.
Together with the heart notes, the base notes form the base of the fragrance. They help to emphasise the lighter, less noticeable notes while adding craftsmanship and depth to the overall fragrance. As they form the foundation of perfumes, the base notes are very persistent, rich and heavy. Together with the heart notes, they form the overall fragrance. As the base notes penetrate the skin, their fragrance lasts the longest.
