I received the game today. After inserting the batteries in the bomb, I realised that the bomb only ticks if you stay on the button. As soon as you let go of the button, the bomb stops ticking. Does anyone else have this fault?

I would also say that it is a defect. For me, it keeps ticking after I press it until it explodes.
If you just get a 2nd game sent to you, you can use the unofficial "Timer for Tick Tack Boom" app until then.
Also highly recommended later, if you want to play it in a cosy/quiet circle.

I also have the game and have used it several times. What you describe is clearly a defect! I only have to press the button briefly and then it ticks away happily. You definitely don't have to keep the button pressed.😅
