How does "Return Home" work exactly? Does the drone return to its starting point or to the current location of the remote control? Scenario: Take-off from a moving ship, landing where? In the water?

The drone returns to the last recorded starting point.

Both. At least with the Spark, you can choose before take-off whether the drone should land where it started or where the remote control is. I have a hard time assuming that this is also the case here.
