The rich orange that WIKING has chosen for the Allgaier tractor transforms this model-building bestseller into a contemporary representative of agricultural machinery, symbolizing the revival of small farming operations in post-war Germany. The Allgaier tractor, featuring the "Porsche System," brought economic success to the tractor manufacturer on Lake Constance for a long time, as tractor production surged dramatically in the early 1950s. Porsche became an important tractor manufacturer during the reconstruction, thanks in part to the long-time chief designer Karl Rabe, who began developing a mass-producible "people's tractor" right after the war, as envisioned by Ferdinand Porsche. It wasn't until 1956 that Allgaier Maschinenbau GmbH was renamed Porsche-Diesel-Motorenbau GmbH in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance.
