Wiking 022805 H0 Volvo Amazon
Product details
The Swedish sedan in classic pontoon shape. The pontoon design allowed this Swedish sedan to sit solidly on the road, while its appearance still conveyed a sporty character. The Volvo Amazon is the fourth mass-produced sedan from Gothenburg, following the PV 544, the 264, and the 840, spanning across different eras. The body features exquisite engravings such as trim strips, door and trunk handles, as well as fuel filler caps and cat's eyes. The interior boasts a separately inserted steering wheel, a dashboard with a ribbed structure, and a recognizable replica of the broad-band speedometer. The front and rear seats are also separately inserted, allowing for a multi-colored interior design that collectors will appreciate later on. A total of 667,323 units of this type were produced, with the original model built between 1956 and 1970. The Amazon significantly shaped Volvo's brand success, as it was considered particularly safe from the start and was the first to be delivered with three-point seat belts as standard worldwide. The body is dark green, with a black steering wheel and dark seats in the interior. The front headlights are transparently inserted, and the turn signals are printed in orange. The "Volvo" lettering and the grille are printed in silver. Window trims and decorative strips are silvered all around. The taillights are printed in red, and the trunk handle is silvered. The "Volvo" lettering on the rear is silvered, and the fuel filler has a black frame. The side trim and "Amazon" lettering are also silvered.
