Wiking 022005 H0 Mercedes Benz MB 180 August Alborn

The heavy transport specialists from August Alborn in Dortmund had their hands full in the industrial center of the region, ensuring their massive loads reached their destinations safely. With the Mercedes-Benz 180, which was quickly equipped with a warning sign on the roof, a practical escort vehicle could be provided for necessary traffic safety – paving the way for a clear roadway. The 180 sedan marked the beginning of a new era for Mercedes-Benz with its pontoon body design. Unlike its predecessors, the body was visually shaped "in one piece." The body color was pine green, while the chassis and grille were aluminum silver. The interior and steering wheel were black. A pebble gray roof sign featured black printing reading "Attention! Heavy Transport." The window frames, rim rings, and the Mercedes-Benz star were silvered. Additionally, the Mercedes-Benz star and the model plate "180" were printed in silver with an underline. On the side, there was a white inscription indicating the company name "Aug. Alborn." The rear taillights were hand-painted in carmine red.
