The cows from Trauffer Wooden Toys are handcrafted in the Bernese Oberland with an extra dose of love. Made from certified FSC linden wood sourced sustainably in Switzerland and painted with colors that are completely safe for children. The tails of the cows are produced at the Fehr rope factory in Thurgau. Our cows are specially crafted to be robust, making them not only beautiful souvenirs but also suitable for children's play.

About Trauffer:

In 1938, Alfred Trauffer began carving cows and other animals in simple, concrete shapes, while Rosa Trauffer-Michel painted them. The greatest reward for their work was the shining eyes of children.

The children's dream factory they founded still exists today. Larger, with many more employees and a much wider selection of wooden toys. But still in the quaint Hofstetten near Brienz, Trauffer continues to make the animals in the same way and upholds the same values: handmade, high quality, sustainable. The shining eyes of children continue to inspire Trauffer's employees today, as do the parents who marvel at how much joy their little ones find in analog toys for hours on end.
