In 1938, Alfred Trauffer began carving cows and other animals in simple, concrete shapes, while Rosa Trauffer-Michel painted them. The greatest reward for their work was the shining eyes of children. The children's dream factory they founded back then still exists today. It is larger, has many more employees, and offers a much wider selection of wooden toys. Yet, in the quaint Hofstetten near Brienz, Trauffer continues to produce the animals in the same way and upholds the same values: handmade, high-quality, sustainable. It is still the shining eyes of children that motivate Trauffer's employees today. Parents are amazed at how much imagination their little ones can express for hours with analog toys, bringing them happiness and satisfaction.
