The correct sensitivity at which a track occupancy detector recognizes a current consumer in a section depends on several factors. For example, if vehicles with axles coated in resistance paint are to trigger a signal, a very high sensitivity is required. However, in digital systems, high sensitivity can become problematic if interference voltages from the digital system cause false alarms. With the GBM-8.2, the sensitivity can be adjusted separately for each detection section using a trimmer potentiometer, allowing it to be tailored to individual requirements.
