The Fleckvieh, also known as Simmental, originally comes from the Simme Valley in Switzerland and is one of the oldest and most widespread cattle breeds. Fleckvieh has many desirable traits that have influenced the breeding of other successful European cattle breeds. Among its best qualities are its utility as draft animals as well as in meat and milk production. This breed is also valued for its rapid growth.
