Sand Castle Games Jeu - Res Arcana Duo

A two-player edition of Res Arcana

Res Arcana Duo is both an expansion for Res Arcana and a stand-alone game for two players, which can be combined with Res Arcana's Lux et Tenebrae and Perlae Imperii expansions.

Gameplay is the same as in the original game: Life, Death, Vigor, Serenity, and Gold are the essences that fuel the art of magic. Choose your mage, collect essences, create unique artifacts, and use them to summon dragons, conquer places of power, and achieve victory!

A typical game lasts from 4 to 6 turns. Each round, players follow these steps:

Collect essences: Perform all available collect abilities and take essences from components.
Actions: Each player, in turn clockwise from the first player, can perform one action per turn: place an artifact, claim a monument or place of power, discard a card to obtain 1 Gold or 2 more essences, use a power on a rectified component, or pass: exchange magic items and draw a card. Play continues until all players have passed.
Passing procedure: If you are the first to pass, take the first player token, exchange your magic item for another magic item, and draw a card.
Victory point check (10+ VPs): If no one has won, straighten all used components and start the next round.
