Product details
Locomotive 50 849 was built in 1940 with factory number 16058 by the Krauss-Maffei locomotive works in Munich-Allach. After 1945, it remained in the Soviet occupation zone and thus with the Deutsche Reichsbahn. Ultimately, the working group 3/75 "Eisenbahntradition" Zwickau, founded in 1979, took over the freight locomotive after it was retired from scheduled service. They restored the dilapidated machine to an excellent visual and technical condition. In 1980, the 50 series was transferred to the DR's tradition park. Among its various special train assignments, it also served as the locomotive for the train set known as the "Zwickauer Traditionszug." To this day, the operational and fully preserved museum locomotive resides in the Glauchau locomotive shed, where it is lovingly cared for.
