Product details
The "Hispania Express" operated since 1963 between Copenhagen, and from 1969 between Hamburg and Port Bou. In Germany, it was classified as an accelerated express train with a maximum speed of 160 km/h, similar to TEE and F or IC trains. The train is being recreated for the 1976/77 timetable year, as the "Hispania" carried a particularly large number of 1st/2nd class cars (ABüm) that year, which were the typical through cars of the German Federal Railways. To achieve the 160 km/h speed, extensive equipment of the cars was necessary, including the introduction of the first examples in ocean blue/beige, equipped with magnetic track brakes.
