Variant of the diesel multiple unit in the livery of a track measurement train of DB AG in Era V. The PIKO models of the driving and control cars embody, like their DB prototypes, reliable and functional designs. The driving car model is powered by a small motor, which is equipped with two precisely sized flywheels to ensure excellent running characteristics. The drive operates on both axles of the driving car. Since the driving and control cars can be coupled together using a current-conducting close coupling mechanism, two additional (and thus four) axles can be utilized for secure current collection during operations with control cars. The driving car features a PluX16 digital interface according to NEM 658. The lighting functions of both vehicles can be switched separately. A clear view is possible through the passenger compartments of both the driving and control cars. The driving car can also be used appropriately as a traction vehicle for transporting individual freight cars.
