With the new design of the iconic locomotive for the TEE and IC service of DB in its original version featuring a skirt and pantograph, painted in red/beige in a short version, PIKO fulfills a significant wish of many garden railway enthusiasts and lovers of attractive locomotives. As the first model of this series in scale G, the BR 103 is characterized by a replica of all the external features of its large prototype. The finely painted and printed model impresses with its highest reliability, robustness, ball-bearing, chrome-plated wheelsets, direction-dependent light change, cab lighting, and a cab setup with a driver. Additionally, the many individually applied details such as grab bars and the distinctive windshield wipers are noteworthy. The model is prepared for digital operation with sound imitation, and it also features lighting in the engine room.
