Variant of the DB railbus BR 798 in Era IV. With the models of the legendary railbus VT 98/VS 98 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn, PIKO offers a vehicle perfectly tailored for use on main and branch model railway lines, featuring many highlights. The illuminated side destination indicators are a true eye-catcher. The railcar is powered by a strong mini motor, equipped with flywheels for excellent running characteristics, and has a factory-installed buffer capacitor for optimal driving performance without sound interruptions. The driving and control cars can be coupled together using a current-conducting short coupling mechanism. The lighting functions of both vehicles, including the lamps above the driver's cabs, can be switched separately. Despite the structural design of the driving and control cars, a clear view through the passenger compartments is possible. The railcar can also be used appropriately as a locomotive for transporting individual freight cars. For an optimal sound experience, the railcar comes factory-equipped with a PIKO sound decoder including a speaker.
