Piko Diesel locomotive BR 216 DB Ep.IV, DCS

Variant of the BR 216 in the DB design from Era IV. The V 160 or 216 series served as the express locomotive for non-electrified routes during the 1960s and 1970s with the Federal Railway. The new design of this important vehicle type not only fills a gap in PIKO's range but will also enrich many model railway layouts from Eras III to V with numerous variants. The development team has faithfully captured the distinctive shape of the prototype in outstanding quality in the model while achieving ideal driving characteristics. These attributes are emphasized by the effective use of perfect engravings and a paint job that is accurate down to the smallest detail. Modern LED technology serves as the basis for the red/white light change as well as the switchable light functions that can be activated by retrofitting a digital decoder. For the sound models, a suitable sound decoder is installed at the factory. With the included detailing parts, the buffer beam of the vehicle can be completed in a prototype-accurate manner.
